Julia Fiona Roberts born to Betty Lou Bredemus (mother) and Walter Grady Roberts on October 28 in 1967. Her grandfather, her great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts, a farmer was the first Roberts to arrive in Atlanta. In the early years of his life his father became obsessed with theater. As studying at Emory University, he performed in a variety of productions in Atlanta. In 1953, when he joined the Air force in Biloxi, he was seen alongside Betty Lou Bredemus in Biloxi. In 1955, they got married and, in 1956, their child Eric Anthony was born. Walter was enrolled in Tulane University, New Orleans Louisiana. In the year 1957, they were discharged from the air force and Walter began studying at Tulane. Walter joined Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio after the family moved from Atlanta to Decatur in Georgia in the year 1960. Walter along with Betty Lou began producing a children's TV show in Georgia, Decatur called Bum Bum and His Buddies. They financed the production their own. The following year, they started the Actors and Writers Workshop which ran for a period of six years. In 1965, they welcomed two new children: Lelisa Billingsley and Julia Billingsley.
