At the age of 19 She released Here, her first single. The single was a smash and garnered praise from the public and from critics. It reached number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song among the 2015's most memorable Songs. The singer released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top charts on Billboard which included Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as Billboard Hot 100. According to an interview Cara did in conjunction with Rap Up, this particular song had a lot of meaning for many of the listeners who related to her tale of accepting and loving yourself. Cara's songs contain messages of love as well as self-love and mental wellbeing. The music she sings is reflective of her personal struggle with mental illness and insomnia. According to an Reuters interview, she describes her album as half-tumultuous and half complete. Her growth was aided by therapy and she encourages others to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara has been a Canadian artist since 1996. Her parents have Italian descent. At the age of 10 old, her parents gifted her a guitar that became the starting point of her passion for music. 2013 was the year she recorded her favorite songs for YouTube which is a well-known social media site. This was to demonstrate that she had both the ability and the confidence to pursue a career as an artist. Indeed one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get noticed by a label known as EP Entertainment which allowed her to create and write tracks.
